DuoDay: meet our two new recruits
The 9th Edition of Duoday: A Day of Connection and Inclusion
On November 21, 2024, the 9th edition of Duoday took place, a nationwide initiative promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities in the professional world.
The concept of Duoday is simple yet impactful: for one day, a company, local authority, or association invites a person with a disability to form a duo with a volunteer professional. Together, they share activities, explore each other’s worlds, and build meaningful connections.
This unique experience is more than just an introduction—it’s an opportunity to exchange perspectives, break down stereotypes, and foster a more inclusive society.
This year, we were delighted to welcome two participants, Yann and Sébastien, to our Lille office. They had the chance to discover our professions and share enriching moments with our teams
Can you introduce yourselves?
Yann: My name is Yann, I’m 42 years old, from Mons-en-Barœul, and I’m a former chef.
Sébastien: My name is Sébastien. I’m currently looking for new projects, but I used to work in electronics in a broad sense.
How did you hear about DUODAY?
Yann: I heard about DUODAY through my CAP EMPLOI advisor.
Sébastien: This is the 4th DUODAY season I’ve participated in!
Why did you choose 52 ENTERTAINMENT?
Yann: I saw 52 Entertainment’s announcement, and the company really caught my interest. I wanted to learn more about the group.
Sébastien: I was initially connected with another company, but an administrative issue prevented it from working out. The day before DUODAY, I saw 52 Entertainment’s announcement, applied immediately, and got a response right away!
What were your expectations for the day when you arrived this morning?
Yann: I expected to learn new things, and indeed, I discovered several roles, especially in marketing and design, that I didn’t anticipate.
Sébastien: I thought it would be a fun experience, discovering new things and meeting passionate people… and I can confirm that’s exactly what happened!
What will you take away from this experience?
Yann: It was really interesting. I learned a lot, and I loved the team spirit.
Sébastien: The meal was great—the sushi was delicious! But above all, I learned a lot by meeting various teams, and I really enjoyed it.
What are your future plans?
Yann: My goal is to work in design. What I saw at 52 Entertainment inspired me to pursue that path.
Sébastien: I’m a freelancer, and I’m working on expanding my client portfolio to focus entirely on freelance work as a container loading inspector. That’s my current project!
A day of learning, sharing, and inspiration
The experiences of Yann and Sébastien during DUODAY at 52 Entertainment highlight the value of this initiative in fostering connections, breaking down barriers, and creating opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Both participants came with unique expectations and left with new insights, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of the company’s culture and its various roles. Their stories remind us of the importance of inclusion and how such experiences can be enriching for everyone involved.
At 52 Entertainment, we are proud to have been part of this initiative and look forward to continuing to support DUODAY and similar programs in the future. Together, we can keep building a more inclusive and inspiring professional world.
